W e are in this together. This slogan has been the rallying cry across the world, uniting nations, states, communities and individuals in working together to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak. VCOM’s administration, researchers, faculty, staff and students have stepped up to help in any way they can. As a medical school, VCOM knows the importance of protecting physicians, nurses, technicians, hospital and clinic employees, emergency medical service (EMS) personnel and patients. All four VCOM campuses have donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to those on the front lines of the battle against COVID-19 in local community hospitals. The College has purchased medical-grade materials for mask-making projects in which faculty and students are participating. The College has helped other community businesses contact hospitals and EMS stations to donate masks and other protective equipment. These are just a few photos of some of the many ways the VCOM family has joined with community partners and each other to make a difference together and help keep the future of medicine safe.
