VCOM 2020 Annual Report

SCHOLARSHIPS & GIVING

VCOM Annual Fund T he VCOM Annual Giving Program raises funds to sustain and enhance important scholarship and outreach. Annual Giving donors are some of the College’s most stalwart supporters— the ones who, year after year, step up to support the College’s highest priorities. We are grateful for their commitment. Some people give because they want to live in a community where everyone has access to the best care, or because they understand how important VCOM is toward improving the broader health of the Appalachian and Delta Regions. Many of our donors are patients of VCOM graduates or have had loved ones who have been in their care. All of them believe in our mission of preparing world-class, community-focused physicians to meet the needs of rural and medically underserved communities and to promote research to improve human health.

Carl and Lynn Verboncoeur’s generous support helps students reach out to care for others.

Annual Fund gifts have a real impact C arl and Lynn Verboncoeur’s support of VCOM’s community outreach programs enables current medical students to travel to Grundy, Virginia, to work with elementary and high school students at the Mountain Mission School. The Mountain Mission School serves as a home, church and school to more than 200 children in need who come not only from Appalachia but also from more than 60 countries worldwide.
