VCOM 2020 Annual Report

MESSAGE FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR COLLEGE DEVELOPMENT AND ALUMNI RELATIONS Investing in the Next Generation of Physicians THIMOTHY G. CORVIN, MA P hilanthropy goes far in reducing the financial obstacles for students who want to return to rural and medically underserved areas to practice medicine. Your support transforms the lives of students who have the determination to become physicians, and it ultimately helps thousands of families living in our region by providing them access to high- quality healthcare. In national rankings, VCOM is consistently recognized as among the most affordable in tuition costs of all medical colleges across the country. We believe that by working to keep tuition low, it allows our graduates the opportunity to return to and serve in rural and medically underserved areas. One of the school’s highest priorities is reducing the burden of educational debt on our students. Your support plays a significant role by helping VCOM to recruit and foster the minds of medical students who will most likely fulfill the College’s mission. We thank you so much for the many ways you give back to VCOM each and every day, whether through volunteer service or your financial support of our annual, endowment and capital programs. Your support is helping us train the next generation of physicians who are making a tremendous impact in the communities where they work and serve.
