VCOM 2020 Annual Report

The Future of Primary Care VCOM Alumni Choose Residency Specialties in the Areas of Greatest Need V COM recruits many students who grew up in medically underserved and rural areas. The College outcomes show that the majority of them return to live and practice in the communities most urgently in need of medical professionals and provide valuable hands-on experience. After graduating, VCOM alumni enter residencies and begin to focus on their individual specialties. A high percentage choose to enter primary care, upholding the College’s mission to meet the growing need for physicians in the Appalachian and Delta regions and beyond.
