T he Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine was founded for the purpose of bringing new physicians to rural and medically underserved regions where the shortage of physicians was most severe. VCOM has always recruited to attract students who have the heart to bring compassionate care to communities in most need. In this section of the report, you will see how VCOM’s alumni are prepared and willing to serve on the frontlines of healthcare. During this global COVID-19 pandemic, all of our alumni have to be ready to keep themselves and their patients safe. A large number of these alumni are already serving as clinical faculty to train our third- and fourth-year students in their clinical rotations.
