VCOM 2019 Annual Report

Collaboration Across Campuses Research Retreat T he fifth annual Research Retreat was held December 7-9, 2018 at the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina. More than 90 faculty attended, including those from VCOM’s partner hospitals. Although intense winter weather curbed some sessions, the group focused on grant writing and development and highlighted VCOM services and resources to seek funding and develop proposals.

Tillie Harris, PhD, the Executive Director of the Grant Training Center, held a workshop, giving insight and tangible advice for searching for funding and designing a research plan, including a discussion of how to write in a compelling manner.
