VCOM - 2019 Annual Report
5/5/5 Faculty Research Presentations T he popular “5/5/5” presentations are now held on each campus. Research faculty present and summarize their findings and scholarly activities using five slides. They have five minutes to present and then they take five minutes to answer questions. This fast-paced and engaging format is an excellent way for faculty to share their interests and continue the collaborative process. Research Rounds and Newsletter T o promote collaborative research ideas across all campuses, VCOM continues to offer biweekly video-conference sessions for faculty and students on all campuses to discuss their research or develop proposals and manuscripts.
Lively discussions on recent publications of interest and mentoring sessions take place during the presentations. The Research division is also distributing a newsletter each quarter to faculty. This publication keeps them up-to-date on upcoming funding programs, federal and VCOM policy changes, as well as informative articles on how to better develop a research proposal or manuscript. Spotlights on faculty successes are also included to inspire others in their projects.
