The College curriculum, including hands-on experience gained through community and international outreach programs, seeks to direct the graduates to return to these areas and practice within medically underserved communities with shortages of physicians. The successful placement of VCOM graduates in primary care residencies holds true to the College’s mission, focusing future physicians to meet the growing need for primary care providers throughout the Appalachian region and beyond.
