Alumni Engaged in the Purpose of theMission V COM was founded upon a vision of bringing primary care physicians to medically underserved areas. The College actively recruits students from underserved and rural areas of the southern Appalachian region with the hope that they will return to those communities after graduation. The College outcomes show that most graduates are in primary care residencies or are practicing in primary care specialties after residency, and they are returning to practice in areas of most need. VCOM alumni consistently excel in all areas of medicine with the majority serving large groups of patients through primary care specialties. As osteopathic physicians, our alumni are passionate about the wellness of the patients
