VCOM 2018 Annual Report

Legacy Society

If you have made arrangements in your will, trust or other deferred gift mechanism to make a gift to VCOM, you are eligible to be a member of the VCOM Legacy Society. The Legacy Society honors and celebrates alumni, parents and friends who want to create a legacy beyond their lifetime. Elizabeth Ramsey, DO, VCOM-Virginia Class of 2009, is VCOM’s most recent member of the Legacy Society. Dr. Ramsey is currently practicing in a medically underserved area in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Her specialties include psychiatry and neurology. When asked why she decided to include VCOM in her estate plan, Dr. Ramsey stated: “ My education at VCOM led me to the field of psychiatry and motivated me to practice in an underserved area. I proudly consider myself a community psychiatrist exemplifying VCOM’s mission. I included VCOM in my estate planning to demonstrate my appreciation for the College that started my journey to a most fulfilling career. Thank you, VCOM! ”

Foundation and Corporate Support

Corporations and foundations provide essential operating and project support for VCOM. The College offers a wide array of giving opportunities, including event sponsorship, annual giving and naming opportunities for facilities, programs, scholarships and endowed funds. “ The Foundation was proud to make possible a collaboration between fundholders and VCOM in the historic preservation of several on-site buildings and improving the Spartanburg Northside community. ” - Troy Hanna President and CEO of The Spartanburg County Foundation
