Science Foundation of West Virginia Scholarship Miranda Cox “ From a very early age, I always knew I wanted to become a doctor. It was not until college that I would find the combination of science, research and a humanistic approach was the real reason for my passion and interest in osteopathic medicine. VCOM demonstrates all of these attributes along with a strong commitment to rural and international medicine. As someone who wants to practice in southwest Virginia one day, I knew VCOM was the perfect fit for me. ”

Having grown up in a very rural area, I am passionate about rural health and the impact limited access to care has on the families living in these communities. ”
