VMCVM/VCOM Center for One Health Research T he connection between human and animal health and the environment is not a new concept, and the health of each group is only becoming more interconnected as our population grows. The One Health initiative is an international movement and a collaborative effort of multiple disciplines. This effort incorporates human medicine,

veterinary medicine and environmental science with the goal of improving health for all species and the environment. The Center for One Health Research is a collaborative research venture to promote joint VCOM and Virginia- Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine (VMCVM) research programs relevant for humans and animals.
