Friends of the Library VCOM makes extensive electronic library resources available to affiliated training sites and physicians throughout Virginia, the Carolinas, Alabama, and West Virginia. The electronic library assists physicians in providing care to their patients by granting access to current evidence-based medical knowledge. Gifts are appreciated to support the campus library or the electronic library. The opportunity also exists to name the campus library with a major gift.

College Development Funds Education and Technology Modern medical education requires the use of innovative technologies, which VCOM makes available to students in the Simulation and Educational Technology Center, or Sim Center, on each campus. The Sim Center on each of the three campuses include simulation teaching theaters, exam rooms, and surgical suites, as well as dedicated classroom and support space. All VCOM medical students and residents have the opportunity to practice procedures utilizing realistic manikins, standardized patient experiences and clinical skills labs. For those who are interested, there are opportunities to provide financial support for the continued development of the Sim Center

Gifts to the Research Fund enable the College to develop

successful research programs and research centers. Through these programs, VCOM makes a priority of encouraging new researchers to develop promising research ideas and applying for extramural funding. Missions and Outreach International Medical Mission Fund VCOM is actively involved in providing healthcare in the Central American countries of El Salvador and Honduras, and the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean. Your donations can help send students on a VCOM medical mission and/or provide much needed medical supplies to clinics in these countries. Appalachian Medical Mission Fund VCOM faculty and staff travel with students to provide health promotion programs, screenings
