This policy establishes a framework for a safe, efficient, and coordinated response to events that affect VCOM’s faculty, staff, and students, while maintaining continuity of academic operations and student services. It is designed to align with Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) standards and applicable federal and state regulations governing institutional continuity, student protection, and record integrity. Catastrophic events may include, but are not limited to, natural disasters, public health emergencies, infrastructure failures, cybersecurity incidents, and other disruptions that significantly impact institutional operations or clinical training environments.
