A member of the Admissions Committee must recuse themselves from the presentation, deliberation, and vote about an applicant with whom they have any conflict of interest, as defined by the list above, by notifying the committee chair. Rescinding Admissions Offer Reasons for rescinding an offer of admission include: • intentional misrepresentation or omission of information on any form relevant to admissions or records; • failure to report prior illegal behaviors or arrests made after admissions offer; • unprofessional or unethical behavior that does not comply with VCOM policies and procedures; • failure to comply with the procedures required for matriculation; • failure to maintain a good record of scholastic performance and/or good record of personal conduct between the time of their acceptance and their matriculation at the College; • failure to pay tuition and fees by required dates; • failure to attend all orientation activities; or • failure to provide all required documentation by the required dates to the Registrar’s Office. Early Decision Admissions Track The Early Decision Admissions Track is an admissions option for those candidates who identify VCOM as their first choice for pursuing a medical education among both osteopathic and allopathic medical schools. In order to be considered for the Early Decision Admissions Track, the candidate must meet all of the regular admission requirements and agree to apply only to VCOM until an early decision notification has been made. How to Request the Early Decision Admissions Track Review 1. Submit your AACOMAS application and a letter of intent to the Office of Admissions, indicating that VCOM is your first choice for medical schools by June 15 th , and request the Early Decision Admissions Track Review. Please also specify your preferred campus. 2. Submit all Secondary Application materials including the Secondary Application, application fee, and a letter of recommendation from a premedical advisor/science faculty member by July 15 th . 3. Withhold applications to all other medical school until early decisions are made by VCOM. 4. Admissions decisions are made by VCOM by October 1. Transfer Applicants VCOM does not commonly accept transfer students. When a compelling reason exists, a student may be reviewed for transfer by the Ad-hoc Committee on Student Transfers. VCOM does not accept transfer students from international schools. To be eligible for consideration, the transfer applicant must complete VCOM’s Application for Transfer form, obtain a letter of good standing from the Registrar of the college from which they are transferring, submit a copy of the medical school transcript, and meet the following conditions: 1. provide a compelling letter addressed to the Associate Dean for Student Affairs notifying the intent and reasons for the transfer a minimum of 90 days in advance of the requested transfer date; 2. must be transferring from a COCA or LCME accredited institution; 3. have current passing grades in all subjects and a GPA of 3.4 or higher; 4. must have successfully passed COMLEX Level 1 if transferring from a COCA accredited osteopathic medical college at the end of the OMS 2 year; 5. if any COMLEX exam has been taken, must have successfully passed the COMLEX exam(s) on the first attempt; 6. must not be suspended, dismissed, or on probation;
