All VCOM sponsored organizations must have a VCOM faculty advisor who is appointed by the Campus Dean. The organization’s faculty advisor and the Associate Dean for Student Affairs must approve all activities carried out by student organizations. As VCOM is a 501c3 not for profit College, all fundraising activities must be approved through the Associate Dean for Student Affairs and the Campus Dean. Events should be scheduled so to avoid interfering with testing, academic requirements, and other campus events. The fiscal responsibility for each VCOM-sponsored student organization lies with the Treasurer of that organization and the Associate Dean for Student Affairs. The College is not liable for the fiscal management of the organization by students. Local Chapters of External Medical Student and Health Professions Organizations The following organizations are not sponsored by VCOM and do not carry the VCOM Name, however; VCOM recognizes the service, academic, and health mission of the organizations and, therefore; provides the opportunity for these organizations to meet on-campus. To meet on-campus the organizations must identify a faculty sponsor who will provide professional oversight of the on-campus meetings.

• American Medical Women’s Association • Christian Medical and Dental Association • Hispanic Community Medical Outreach • LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Healthcare • Medical Muslim Student Association • Student Advocate Association

In order to request an event be held on the VCOM campus, local student chapters of the aforementioned organizations need to submit the Student Event Proposal Form to Student Affairs along with the faculty sponsor’s name who will attend and oversee the event. Local student chapters must adhere to the following: • All meetings must be scheduled and approved by the Office of Student Affairs. • A faculty sponsor must be present at all on-campus events. • Events must be scheduled so to avoid interfering with testing, academic requirements, and other campus events. Any of the above organizations who desire to participate in VCOM’s campus Merchandise Fairs must have the merchandise approved by the Office of Student Affairs. All merchandise must be respectful and professional and any use of VCOM logos or likeness must be approved by the Office of Student Affairs and the Vice President for Communications, Marketing, Website and Publications.

All local student chapters of these outside organizations are responsible for maintaining their finances.
