C. The Promotion Board may make additional recommendations to the Campus Dean as deemed appropriate by the Promotion Board. 5.2 Recommendations for OMS 1 and OMS 2 Students Who Have Been Referred for Repeated F Grades of Required Components of a Course(s) A. Regardless of whether the student is on Academic Probation or not, if the student has repeated F grades of the same or different required components of a course or courses within an academic year, regardless of successful remediation of the component from a previous block, the Promotion Board may recommend to the Campus Dean any of the following: • Require the student to successfully remediate the F component grades within one attempt and to continue academic probation for no less than 1 calendar year; or • Allow the student to repeat the academic year and to continue academic probation for no less than 1 calendar year; or • Dismiss the student if the collective performance shows failure to make academic progress. B. The Promotion Board may make additional recommendations to the Campus Dean as deemed appropriate by the Promotion Board. 5.3 Recommendations for OMS 3 and OMS 4 Students Who Have Been Referred for F Clinical Rotation Grades A. If a student is not on Academic Probation, and this is their first failed clinical rotation (either for failure of the clinical rotation performance evaluation or failure of an end of-rotation exam within the same discipline twice), the Promotion Board may recommend to the Campus Dean that the student be required to repeat the rotation in the same specialty as the failed clinical rotation with a different preceptor (the repeated rotation requires all components of the rotation to be repeated) and place the student on academic probation for no less than 1 calendar year. B. Regardless of whether the student is on Academic Probation or not, if the student has more than one clinical rotation failure (either for failure of the clinical rotation performance evaluation or failure of an end-of-rotation exam within the same discipline twice), the Promotion Board may recommend to the Campus Dean any of the following (students with more than one clinical rotation failure are generally recommend for dismissal): • Require the student to repeat the rotation in the same specialty as the failed clinical rotation with a different preceptor (the repeated rotation requires all components of the rotation to be repeated); or • Require the student to repeat the rotation in the same specialty as the failed clinical rotation with a different preceptor (the repeated rotation requires all components of the rotation to be repeated) and require the student to complete any other additional rotations or additional coursework (with assessment) the
