o Option 2: Follow a VCOM-directed study plan.

 Students who do not choose to attend an external immersion program and who choose to follow a VCOM-directed study plan will be temporarily withdrawn on the first day of the regularly scheduled OMS 3 year and are not eligible for promotion to the OMS 3 year until they receive a passing score on COMLEX Level 1.  In order to be released to sit for COMLEX Level 1, the student must score 65% or greater on all-topic, timed question sets of at least 25 questions in TrueLearn for a minimum of 2-weeks.  Once the student is temporarily withdrawn, they must sit for COMLEX Level 1 within 60 days of beginning their VCOM directed study plan and have a passing COMLEX Level 1 score within 90 days in order to be promoted to the OMS 3 year. Once the student is temporarily withdrawn, they must sit for COMLEX Level 1 within 60 days or be dismissed by the Campus Dean. These students will not be eligible for re-enrollment or further financial aid until they pass COMLEX Level 1.  Upon receiving a passing score on COMLEX Level 1, the student will receive a “P” (Pass) grade for the Comprehensive Review Course (provided they have met all other course requirements) and will be promoted to the OMS 3 year.

12.2 COMSAE Phase 2: A Comprehensive Review Exam According to the accreditation requirements for the college, as outlined by the AOA Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA), students are required to successfully pass the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners’ (NBOME) Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination exams (COMLEX Level 1 and COMLEX Level 2 CE) as a part of a College of Osteopathic Medicine’s graduation requirements. In order to provide students with assurance that they are attaining the medical knowledge competencies required to begin the OMS 4 year and to pass COMLEX Level 2 CE, VCOM requires students to complete comprehensive testing through COMSAE Phase 2 at the end of the OMS 3 year.

The COMSAE Phase 2 exam serves as the comprehensive medical knowledge exam to measure cumulative medical knowledge gained in the OMS 3 year. A passing score on COMLEX Level
